Abhyanga

You will feel like royalty with these soothing four-hands, full body application of specially prepared oils. Abhyanga is performed by two technicians in synchrony, using a special sequence of strokes which promotes the absorption of warm herbalized oil deep into the skin and tissues. This procedure loosens impurities, nourishes and revitalizes the skin, and promotes balance in the whole physiology.

Shirodhara

Experience deep relaxation and inner harmony as a soothing continuous flow of herbalized oil is poured slowly and gently across your forehead. Your entire nervous system will relax and experience increasing balance and calm.

Svedana

Svedana, an herbalized steam bath, will soothe and relax and purify the entire physiology. This treatment is very beneficial after Abhyanga, as it opens the pores and internal channels of your body to facilitate the elimination of impurities.

Podikhizi

Soothe joint and muscle pain and stiffness with this two technicians Ayurveda treatment, that involves the application of heated cloth boluses filled with special herbs and oils to a few specified areas of the body (local Podikhizi), or the whole body (full Podikhizi).

Pizhichill

Enjoy the ultimate in deep relaxation with this luxurious whole body treatment. Two technicians simultaneously administer a continuous flow of warm herbalized oil over the entire body. The oil penetrates deeply into the body tissues to soften and mobilize deep-seated impurities that have been lodged in the tissues. Traditionally valued for soothing and revitalizing muscles and joints, and balancing the whole physiology, it is often referred to as the royal treatment of Ayurveda.

Udvarthana

Udvarthana is a rich massage treatment that can help eliminate cellulite while stimulating, nourishing and cleansing the skin. In this treatment, a special herbalized paste is applied simultaneously by two technicians to the whole body using a specific sequence of strokes. This unique treatment is valued for supporting balanced weight loss while maintaining normal energy levels and vitality.

Nasya

The purpose of Nasya therapy is to remove impurities from the head. Nasya incorporates an herbalized oil massage of the head and face followed by the inhalation of herbalized steam. A localized heat treatment is applied, followed by special herbal preparations which are self-administered through the nostrils. This treatment is greatly valued for its effectiveness in promoting increased mental clarity, vitality and balance.

Garshan

A massage with raw silk gloves creating friction on the surface of the skin and increasing circulation in the body. It promotes weight loss and clears away clogging impurities that might cause problems such as cellulite. Garshan is followed by oil massage.

Matra-Basti

At the end of each day, after the impurities from different parts of the body have been loosened and drawn into the intestinal tract, the patient receives a Basti. These gentle internal cleansing treatments use either warm herbalised oil or water-based herbal decoctions to eliminate impurities from the intestinal tract. This is one of the most important aspects of treatment; Ayurvedic texts say that even by basti alone 50% of illness can be reduced.

Shodana-Basti

Based on the information you have provided when you make your reservation, our in-residence Ayurvedic expert (Vaidya) will recommend a specific "Pre-Panchakarma Preparation" program for you. This program is completed anywhere from 5 to 14 days before you begin the Panchakarma program. For maximum benefit it is best to do this program in-residence at Lancaster Health Center. But if time does not allow, you can also do this program at home prior to your arrival.
