Abhyanga
At the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center in Lancaster, our internationally trained technicians use highly refined methods to prepare the organic herbalized oils for your traditional, personalized Ayurveda massage called Abhyanga (pronounced “ah-bee-ong-ga”. You will feel like royalty with this soothing four-hand, full body application of freshly prepared oils. A specialty of Maharishi Ayurveda, Abhyanga is performed in silence and in synchrony by a team of two specially trained technicians using a unique sequence of strokes which promote the absorption of warm herbalized oil deep into the skin and tissues. This procedure loosens impurities, revitalizes the skin, and promotes balance in the whole physiology. As many of the nerve endings are located just beneath the skin's surface, Abhyanga is especially beneficial for nourishing and balancing the whole nervous system, reducing mood swings, improving immunity and overall stamina and evenness throughout the day.
